On Saturday, May 17, FTA is proud to present 2 block-buster speakers, John Hardy and Stephen Bigalow!  We will begin the day with 

JOHN HARDY 

John Hardy is the Market Strategist at Saxo Bank. John writes Saxo Bank’s Forex Market Update which covers daily news, comments and charts on the major currencies. He also generates Trading Strategies that look to profit on swings in the market on a 1 - 3 day time horizon. 

At our meeting, John will illustrate how he identifies trading opportunities with lots of chart examples. The technical tools John relies on most include price breakouts combined with moving averages with a secondary interest in momentum indicators. Alternatively, John employs pattern recognition techniques for trading reversals. Generally, John buys on strength and sells on weakness.
 

The second half of John Hardy’s presentation will cover the global Macro environment - where we are, where we are going and whether the USD has hit its low for the cycle. He will also include the “Big Picture” -- key fundamental and technical inputs to consider for trading the forex on any time horizon.

John Hardy’s daily comments “tell the story” of the market – weighing the importance of incoming economic data and news items and discerning both the day-to-day and broader themes that are moving currencies. The analysis attempts to combine basic fundamental analysis with market positioning/psychology around event risks (economic data releases, etc.) and technical analysis to create a compelling view of what may happen next.  

As part of fundamental analysis, John considers inter-market correlations as paramount for understanding the genesis of moves in the Forex space. His analysis draws on a number of models based on other markets, including interest rates, credit, equity and commodity markets, and their correlation with the G10 currencies.

Stephen Bigalow, owner of the Candlestick Forum, and author of “High Profit Candlestick Patterns” and “Profitable Candlestick Trading: Pinpointing Market Opportunities to Maximize Profits”, possesses twenty-five years of investment experience, including eight years as a stockbroker with major Wall Street firms.

While consulting with Institutional Investment firms, money managers and energy trading firms, Stephen successfully combined conventional techniques with Candlestick analysis to produce unique trading strategies. Stephen Bigalow will be sharing his distinctive, successful trading approach with us.
